Laudato Si CHAPLET
Saint Francis of Assisi completed the Canticle of the Sun in 1224-1225. This song praises the Lord for his fraternal creation. Praising the Lord was central in Saint Francis live: he prayed 70 times a day the mantra: "Let us praise and exalt Him always." Together with Saint Francis we can pray the Canticle of the Sun as our song of praise to God for and through creation with a clear mission for us: to be part of the creative dynamic and become co-creators.
The ten prayers beads symbolize the ten strophes of the Canticle of the Sun. The TAU cross indicates the right direction: we start with God All-High and end with the humbleness of humans. The dynamic of the Canticle of the Sun is one from high to low, from God via the heavenly bodies and the four primal elements (air, water, fire, earth) over life, love and death to the task of mankind.
We stand in a long tradition of prayer: prayer beads have been a guide to meditative prayer for centuries!

Praying the Canticle of the Sun
You can pray with the ten prayer beads just as a chaplet.
*You choose your favourite verses from the Canticle of the Sun.
*You repeat these verses 10 times.
*With the TAU-cross you choose another verse or a chorus of a song.

Andreas chooses the first verse of the Most High, together with the four verses of the natural elements. After each dozen he prays the last verse of the Song of the Sun: "Praise and bless my Lord..."
Using the prayer beads, you can, wherever you are, pray your own Canticle of the Sun: with each element, you can give thanks, ask forgiveness, express hope.
Sophia stops during a nature walk to thank God for His creation: "Thank You, God for your loving creative power, thank You, God for brother Sun who gives us warmth, thank You, God for sister Moon who comforts us during the night...".
